R. Mexicana 'araguia' problems

Has anyone else had problems with this plant? It seems to be really finicky. My lighting is 6W LED and it just keeps stunting. It's a really boom bust plant it seems like. It grows an inch every two days for a while then just locks up and repeats. I don't have any co2 problems in the tank since right now it's fishless and I'm just blasting it with gas. It feels like this all started when I began dosing extra NPK. Is it sensitive to N or something?

My kH is around 0-3 depending on when my last W/C was and ph is around 6.5.

Personally when I was growing it, I had that same issue, especially when I adjusted params. It would lock up and seem to wither... I couldn't figure it out. Oddly when life got busy and was neglectful it grew brilliantly.

That appears the case to me as well. When I dose macros it just hates it.

I think I'm going to try to just dose mg, ca and K for awhile to see if I can't get it growing right again.

Not enough light, that is all. I've had it in 3 tanks. It does that in the low light one.

A heavily planted shrimp tank is possible!

Not enough light? How much light does the plant exactly need? I'm growing R. macrandra "japan red" pretty well in the same tank with it. Could it be with very high light nutrients are exhausted faster or kept in a lower balance so they tend to not stunt?
