So, I got twisted, Cuba, and pantanal. Do these guys like to branch out at all? And any tips and tricks? I hear pantanal is difficult and twisted is pretty new it seems.

Very pretty plants though, can't wait for them to fill out. And for me to sell them to you guys :P

What is 'twisted'? Do you mean 'Curly'? I've heard it referred to as 'curly' or 'curly tornado'.

Ludwigia inclinata 'Curly' is very easy to grow in both low or high light. Both 'curly' and 'Cuba' will shoot out multiple branches after trimming.

'Pantanal' is a thorn in my side. I haven't had it thrive for me. Good luck!

cuba branches best if left to grow to the water surface. it will not try to grow emmergent, instead it will lay over and form side shoots about every 1 inch of stem

'Cuba' will go emergent when it starts getting crowded on the water surface.

Cuba is an odd beast for me. I had to dial down my lights because when I had all of them on it would just start branching and not growing vertically. Now that my LED fixtures are off it's back to focusing on the primary stem.

Small P. stellata

L pantanal is rather a super fast grower.

So good light/CO2/ferts and trimming.
You cannot over do CO2/ferts on this weed.

Once the ferts/CO2 have returned to what they should be, the new growth will be nice and you can follow down the stem to see how stable things have been in a time line.

My CO2 tank ran out for 3-4 days before I caught it, I had a little stunted twisting, but then it recovered, often times this is actually a great way to induce branching in many plant species. 2-4 weeks later, the plants look good again.

Regards,
Tom Barr

+1 Tom nailed it. It's not a Ludwigia at all. It's Pogostemon stellatus.

I need advice on my Twisted. It seems to not be doing well, and I'm not sure why. I can say though that everything else is doing more than fine, and that I have a ton of L. atlantis now (which might be shading the Twisted).

My tanks are a mess and I have to clean them up 2morrow or later tonight, but other than that.....idk.
