Overall the plant is growing well and fast but some of the leaves are doing this. I have cherry shrimp, mts, pond snails, and ostracods in a 3g jar

its either nutrients or a lack of light (if the leaf was taken from the bottom)

My wisteria does the same thing over time with the older leafs, but its so thick that I don't even notice it unless I am doing a heavy trimming

it looks almost as if something is eating it. i havent seen anyting like that in my tanksthough so i am not for sure about that. try to watch the pond snails on your plants and see if they are nibbling on the plant.

I am sure the snails are eating the leaf as it is decaying. I suspect it needs more potassium. Wisteria needs a lot of potassium!

Disher, I don't know why you prefer liquid, but I just started dry ferts and LOVE it. K2SO4 is what you want for just potassium dosing, but dry nitrates add potassium as well. (KNO3)
Dry ferts are way cheaper than liquids (I was a Seachem lover previously) and sprinkling in a half of a 1/4 tsp of something is drop-dead simple.

By the way, instead of Excel, look into using Metricide (gluteraldehyde). Same effect, 30% more concentrated, far less money.

Jeff, thanks for the recommendations. I prefer liquid because of its simplicity and I have very small tanks. Can you provide a link as to where I can purchase the dry ferts? Or maybe a common store that sells it. Thanks!

They aren't in many stores but you can buy them here or from chemical suppliers.
