It is not an easy plant, just like the regular rotala macrandra. But once it gets going(easier said than done for many of us), it is a pretty fast growing plant, like most stem plants. They might experience a melt down and sulk for a long time after you aquire it. I had to look at pretty much bare sticks for months. It tooke me three tries with r. macrandra and two tries with r. magenta. They grow well for me now, no special care, just cover your NPK/trace.
