Yet another episode of "What's That Plant!"

So, I went creeking this past Wednesday (here in central/eastern kentucky), and happened across a strange moss-type plant.

I grew in shallow water, in strands up to a foot long, but the structure just makes me think moss, especially since it attached itself to rock and wood the way moss tends to. Possibly due to the season, the strands began black/dark brown, and were green only at the very tips.

It was cool, so I bagged some up and brought it back.
I'm hoping that in good clean water with bright light, it'll grow full-green which would be awesome :]

Here is a close-up of the structure.

Here is a size reference for a single strand, with a good amount of green branching.

Here is a small bunch of the stuff in it's natural shape.

What do you think it is?

"Less bad" does not equal "good".

Coolio, think it'll color back up in my tank?

The brown spots may be dead but the green spots will produce new growth.

Willow Moss typically requires cooler water (i.e., no heater) and decent flow.
