Wallichii

I have wallichii and it is growing pretty fast but I have fuzz and hair algae on them. Is there a good way to clean these or should I wait for the tank to balance? Also the plant is very bare looking. Is this from algae, rough cleaning, or maybe some fish are getting between meal snacks?

They are a delicate plant and are very hard to clean, scratch that, impossible to clean... LOL
If it is growing that is half the battle, all you need to do is just clip off clean tops 3" or so and keep replanting them and once you get your algae straightened out you will have no problems. The stumps from the cuts will put out one or two new stems anyways.

Are there bare spots or is the whole stalk bare? If the plant is bare looking, I would hazard a guess that your SAE has found it!

It has bare spots. I don't have SAEs in the tank. Maybe something else has taken a munch. I have angels, rainbows, otos, a clown loach, cories, and glass shrimp.

Angels, cories, ottos and shrimp dont bother it... I had those fish in with it when I grew it. Are the stems bare on the bottom ?
They will drop leaves quickly if shaded at all and normally its at the bottoms of course. If you have a patch of it, the outer stems will be the only ones with leaves all the way to the bottom.

No, acutally the tops and bottoms are ok, but the middle is where it is bare. Weird isn't it?
