I picked up what I was told was Monte Carlo from my LFS but even they seemed somewhat uncertain about what they were actually giving me. And given that I'm new to all this, I was of little assistance. Can y'all please help me identify what exactly I just planted in my aquarium?
Aquarium info:
21 gallon
Pressurized co2
8 hours of LED light a day (for now)
Eheim 2217 filter
1 Betta, 8 longfin zebra danio's and ~10 ghost shrimp
Some java moss
Hopefully some Monte Carlo
I have started to become suspicious of if this is indeed Monte Carlo because a lot of the new growth that is happening is going vertically rather than spreading. Not sure if this is normal or not. I planted this stuff roughly a week ago and am just now beginning to see some nice new green in it... some happens near the base of the plant but a lot happens near the top of the stem. It came in a few pots worth and the strands required quite a bit of trimming down (each strand was probably ~5 inches long). Forgive me for the messy planting. Pics below. Any input is appreciated, thanks!
