Thumbs up Bare Bottom Swords

I am setting up a bare bottom tank and wanted to put some Amazon Sword in some glass pots. I have never kept them before. Will I have to use a diy root tab per pot or would that burn them and put to much fert in my tank or should I just put a few pellets of osmocote in with the sand in each pot? I am eventually gonna put some fancy gold fish in there will the poo be enough so dont worry about the ferts?

Thanks for the help!!!

Sealed pots allow no water to flow through the substrate... they always end up with a bunch of cyano just under the surface.
Maybe use terracotta with a few holes drilled in.

Goldfish don't belong in aquariums.

I was planning on keeping my plants in plastic containers until I move next year. Seems that is a bad idea.

Low flat plastic trays may be a better option?

With goldfish in there, I would try no ferts first and watch the swords. Goldfish may provide enough nutrients.
You can always slide a root tab in if you started seeing deficiencies.
My goal would be to get the plants to soak up the big goldfish bioload first.
