Are you sure about this? I was always under the impression that you want as much water movement as possible to make sure there are no dead spots and that all gases and nutrients are even exchanged throughout the tank? Obviously you don't want enough that it uproots every single plant in the tank.
You want movement so there are no dead spots and fertilizers & co2 is distributed throughout the aquarium, but you want minimal surface agitation so the co2 doesn't gas out. I've seen some of the larger ada tanks with 4 pipes but those are 120 or 180s. I looked at the conversion rate and man those are some expensive eheims.
