Substrate for a new 240L (60Gal) setup

Hi, folks.

I've just acquired a new tank second-hand, it's a Fluval Vicenza 260, and will be planting it much like my old little 60L I've had for a couple of years.

In the past, I've used JBL Manado as a substrate, and my plants always seem to do quite well, but it's very light, and plants tend to float out of it easily.

I also would like to top it off with something light-coloured, like a fine sand. The 60L where I tried that didn't work out so well, the Manado just ended up working it's way to the top through the actions of the roots and all the snails.

Is there a good combo of plant-friendly substrate and sand topping that doesn't end up "upside down" within a few months?

Currently considering 1" of something like Eco-Complete with maybe 1.5"-2" of whatever sand is in the LFS.
