White Substance on Substrate Near Diffuser

So I've been running a pressurized setup for about 2 weeks now. I noticed yesterday that this odd white substance is starting to coat my eco-complete right in front of the co2 diffuser. I attached a photo, even though it might be hard to see exactly what I'm talking about (try to resist making fun of my pathetic Madagascar lace Anybody know what this is or whether I should be concerned? I know in DIY setups you often get some buildup from yeast related byproducts but I can't find any of this in pressurized systems.

Thanks for the help,

what are your water parameters?

Any chance it could be a similar reaction to what produces tufa?

I'm not too sure of my parameters, the only thing I have to test with is one of those simple 6 test dip strips. As far as those go, my water looks good, i.e. low nitrates, slightly hard water, alkalinity around 180ppm, and pH probably around 7.2, but we all know how accurate those strips are My fish and plants are quite happy so I'm not too concerned about the water quality.

I looked at your tufa link and it's an interesting theory, maybe just carbonate settling on those rocks.

Whatever it is, I noticed my SAEs nibbling at it, so hopefully they'll just clean it up

I don't know what it is but if the fish are nibbling it will be history in no time
