Osio Sand

In Nature Aquarium W O R L D takashi amano uses it on most of his tanks pictured. I can't find "osio sand" anywhere on the net though . Is there another common name for it I might be missing?

If you want a white sand, then look into the locally available pool filter sand.
If you want sand of a different color, there may be sources, but it is not as simple as PFS.

Sand is almost always from one of 2 parent rocks.
Silica sand is the most commonly available, and is chemically neutral for pools or aquariums.
Sand from any limestone or related parent rock will raise the water hardness. This is fine in a Rift Lake tank, and a few others, but not so good if your aim is a soft water tank.
Many sand-like materials are chemically neutral, so if you want black sand, then Tahitian Moon Sand is one possibility. If you want something else, then go back to the swimming pool industry and look into Pebble Tech materials. These are quartz, and are also chemically neutral. Lots of colors.
