This is my first time dealing with a dirted tank. I put the dirt down almost 2 weeks ago with a sand cap, and the water is still the "tea" color from the tannins in the dirt. I'm using the biowheel filter that came with the tank, along with a sponge filter, and doing 50% water changes almost daily, and it doesn't seem to be doing much to help the color. Is there anything else I can do? How long does it normally take for the tannins to disappear? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Forgot to say that I'm using the MGOPM along with a sand cap, if that makes any difference.

Get a bag of Seachem Purigen for your filter. It should clear up the tannins in just a few days.
