volcanic soil

Are there any side effects of using volcanic soil in a pot thats not sealed in a pond for lillies. Ph, etc?

If I understand your question, you're asking if volcanic soil will affect the water parameters in a pond if you use it to pot some lilies- is that correct? (Sorry, I just had to read your question 5x... LOL)

The potential depends largely on how big the pond is as well as the source of the soil (if it's been exposed to fertilizers, pesticides, etc).

You might try some in a container with some snails for a few weeks first to keep an eye on the water params and the snails.
