I am setting up a 125 gallon tank. I have pool filter sand and am wonder if i need flourite of eco complete or if i can simply keep the water column fertilized? I plan on using high light with co2.
either use your pool filter sand or blow cash on ADA aquasoil. Grass and eco complete is not a very good combo IMO - it is far too coarse. There are tons of examples of people who grew nice carpets in PFS

If you click on the link in my sig you'll see two types of hairgrass growing in PFS with just water column ferts.
