I tried. I really did. I tried so hard to keep any
plants with my turtle. She wouldnt have it. She's a 13 year old RES living in a 75 currently. Any plants I placed into the tank immediately became a snack. She has an affinity for duckweed that seems to grow uncontrollably in my 55gal planted tank. Congrats on having some plants make it
I'm also glad to see you're considering, or at least aware, of the need for space as yours grows. I have that "forsaken" floating turtle dock, but she ripped the suction cup part off, so its more like a floating log now, and she climbs onto it from time to time, but apprecaites the amount of water she has to swim in. I fill the 75 about 3/4 of the way to the top and she'll spend hours cruizing around. She's just over 8" long now and likes to be able to have to stretch her legs out to poke her head out of the water at times.

OF course I had to do a major tank cleaning after that but it was worth it once in a while and I think it stimulated the turtles as well.
They are pretty bright and definately do have a personality. As for the feeders..... my turtle prefers friends, and now has 3-4 "feeder" goldfish weighing in at between 5 and 6 inches. Fortunately I have a pond I can put them in but I still find it hillarious that she'd rather keep them as friends than eat them. Now they're too large but thats ok.
Again, congrats on the awesome setup. Your turtle looks like it enjoys being in the plants.
