Duff's Terrarium Collection

I'm addicted to plants! (Thanks Hydro!) Thought I would take a moment to share a few more of my terrariums that I've been working on.

I'll start small to big - The mini one below is 8x12x12, no ventilation with a 9w CFL bulb.

This is a 12x12x18 with a 13w LED screw in bulb and had 2 inches of water at the bottom.

Another 12x12x18 but with a CFL bulb (taking forever to get good growth)

And the newest set up, a 56g Column (30x18x24) Paludarium. It's newly planted as of about 2 weeks ago so it has a long way to go!

Wow. I'm jealous. Makes me want to tear down an aquarium and start a terrarium.

They are loads of fun. I've been toying with the idea of doing my 75g tank back into a terrarium/vivarium.

Thanks for the kind comments! My friends think I am crazy...

Ha! That's exactly what happened here - Had quite a few aquariums (loved them all) then found a whole new world of terrariums, vivariums etc and was hooked. I'm down to 2 fish tanks and up to 1 Riparium, 2 paludariums and 2 terrariums and a grow out tank for additional plants.

Here's a few pictures of the 2nd tank build. I do have some of the others and will try to dig them up.

First plants added!

And then the picture taken last week. I started it in July or so of last year.

you need some critters to go in there now

There are 2 types of people on this forum. Those that have algae, and those that lie and say they don't.

Thanks Chad! I wish I could - it's actually really pretty small. The tank is 12x12x18. It was my first build and I really made the sides and back too thick. The planting area is about 8" wide and 8" tall. Live and learn... I had a filter on it for the 1st few months but it became a pain so I ditched the filter and change the water every 2 weeks or so. Not ideal but its small enough to handle with out too much trouble.

Thanks BruceF!

Another quick update - A BLOOM! In my little Nano Terrarium

This is a Meiracyllium Wendlandii (I think reclassified as a Meiracyllium trinasutum) The bloom is about 3/8 of an inch in size.

Just about to fully open:

And open!

Thanks for looking!

Duff
