Monte Carlo, immersed?

Hey, I have recently started setting up a planted aquarium. I have been told it's faster getting mosses and carpeting plants to grow in the substrates and or on wood without being underwater beforehand and to just keep them wet by spraying them with Ro water 3 times a day. Is this correct? Is there anything else I need to know? as I've found getting relevant information difficult.

I'm growing Monte Carlo emersed right now, but not in-tank like a dry start method (which is what you might be looking for). It's growing in a plastic container, in a mix of potting soil, sand, and Eco-Complete. I have it under a humidity dome but you can use plastic wrap. If the plants are covered you don't need to mist them more than once a day. Also make sure the soil isn't soaking wet, standing water could bring algae or mold.
