Haha no worries.

I just took two GIANT comet goldfish and a few dozen rosie red minnows out. My parents want me to put them in out koi pond, but i think i should give them to someone else since they keep multiplying so fast.. any thoughts?

I'm going to my local swat meet, my dad found some big containers there. My local homedepot stops at 100 gals

The rosie reds make great turtle snacks

Yeah that's what i thought, but i put a few in and the turtles were too lazy to swim around at catch them, so they became "room mates" and then reproduced like rabbits. LOL.

I think you should listen to your parents.

Then you would have to get a Champsochromis caeruleus for population control.

Thanks! Turtles are cool, aren't they?

The plants have grown in a LOT... maybe a little too much. I'll take some pictures in the morning.

I will return to this site to continue to share with everyone on this issue. Please wait me.
Wow, really? I guess some turtles just like to escape to koi ponds, haha.

Turtles seem to be going in to hibernation.

I dont like winter cause' i never see them while they're hibernating, so i always worry that something came and ate them. Haha..

This is 500 gallons?! Sweet! I'm going to have a 250gal Pond that's going to be empty soon, but I wonder how well they'd get along with about 7 Koi, 7 Feeder Goldfish[full grown], some other various full grown goldfish, 3 Sunfish, &, a variety of minnows in the 5,000gal Pond when it's finally complete?

In a large body of water, turtles (at least mine) get tired of chasing fish around - so they'll eventually give up. I don't think you'd have a problem with keeping koi with turtles, especially if the koi are big.

They may get a minnow every now in then, but that's not really an issue.

LOL -> I can so see a minnow swimming top speed saying "AHHHH" with a RES chasing it and I'd be like, "Get a room you two!" LOL

I'll give some time for the pond to mature but I think I'll keep a turtle in with them...I think this pond is going to be deeper then my height! [~6'] I hope the turtle will be ok with that??? There will obviously be spots out of the water, but for the most part it's 2'-6'...
