DIY Fluidized filter for pond?

So I keep seeing these fluidized systems for ponds. My question is how well they work? Second what's the best media? Third how much would I need for a 2000 gallon pond? I want to do it all DIY. Any suggestions on sites or videos? Thanks.

I don't know much about the fluidized filter systems but my ~2400g pond runs fine with just the bio falls. Granted it's fairly large but just a couple matala matts and 4 big bags of plastic strapping.

I had an algea bloom after dosing to much kno3 last summer but quilt batting and watercress cleared it up.
