Mine more often try to fly and get stuck in filter current. But yes, my smaller shelled species often do this.

I didn't know that about the slime trails in the water though.

And to everybody who says they're a nuisance, you are most likely over feeding. I get a few adult offspring per dead adult snail, as I don't overfeed.

They actually are a healthy indicator of your level of feeding, as well as the food they give shrimp in their slime trail.
