So I have a 12 gallon Cadlights bowfront aquarium. Here's all the basic info before I get into my problem.
Lighting: 2 x 24w Zoomed T5HO with Giesemann bulbs 15in above substrate, 8hrs daily
CO2: Pressurized through needlewheel pump on closed loop, BPS too high to count
Fertilizing: EI for 10 gallon ( 1/4tsp KNO3, 1/32tsp KH2PO4, 1/32tsp CSM+B, 1/32tsp 10% DTPA iron chelate all 3x week, 50% WC, 3/4tsp Equilibrium at water change)
Flow: Mag 3 (350gph) on closed loop, running through reactor and about 4ft of tubing
Koralia Nano (240gph)
It took me a while to get into a balance with everything where I finally got good plant growth and no stunting or deficiency issues. However, I'm still seeing several different kinds of algae on the glass, but no so much the plants (thank god
Right now I see soft green dust algae, harder green spot algae, soft brown algae I'm assuming are diatoms, and very small amounts of BBA.
My question is, why if I'm seeing such good healthy plant growth am I still seeing these four types of algae growing on the glass? It's not really a serious issue, but it does need to be wiped/scrubbed off at least twice a week to keep the glass looking decent.
Is there something that I'm doing wrong here or is this just part normal tank maintenance? Looking at all the pristine tanks on the forum, my looks dirty in comparison lol.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
