Blue light used for algae control?
I've got an infestation of Spirogyra and Oedogonium.
I read somewhere on the net a reference to covering the glass under the light with blue plastic... supposedly by reducing the red wavelengths, the algae won't grow as well as the plants. Or maybe, it just dims the light???
Contradicting this, I've also read that blue light encourages alage.... so maybe it would be counterproductive?
I've got some blue plastic sheets.
Is this a good or bad idea???
