Post Will iron help my plant or cause algae?


this is my first attempt for a planted tank and all i have right now is my Eleocharis acicularis. I separated it into 6 clumps in my 10 gallon and i read somewehre the a dosing of iron every week can help them grow fast.. If i add iron will it help the growth of the Eleocharis acicularis or will it create algae?

DIY co2 reactor/diffuser
eco complete substrate
15 watt light T8
and i have the Kent Marine Iron & Manganese supplement

You need to dose a comprehensive fertilizer, like Seachem Flourish. Plants need more than just Iron (Fe) to grow. Also depending on how many plants (plant load) you have that uptake the nutrients will determine how much fertilizer you need to add. Here are some helpful links
