If you have an SAE that doesn't eat algea as an adult then more than likely you have a flying fox and not a true SAE. I have one in a 20gallon and I feed him algae waffers because its all he eats. Many LFS sell Flying foxes as SAE, which as adults do not eat anything. anything as in Algea
I agree with the other person. SAE are over rated, lazy and mean.
Here is the one I had.
80gal planted Angelfish community.
100gal SA cichlid, Silver dollar, and delhezi. No plants!
36 gal Planted Swordtail community.
Here is the link that has been posted before about the differences. I cant say for sure, snowflake but i think that is a Flying fox. I couldnt see if it had two sets of barbles on its mouth though. but i have had good luck with my two albino bristlenose plecos and trumpet snails.
29g Tetra Tank
100g Planted Angel/Clown Loach
I can't spell...Im an engineer, I do math
Okay, SAE is off the chart and so is the bristlenose pleco (because of reports of the little rascals eating Amazon sword plants). I'll research the snails you all recommended. Also, I've been considering Farlowella catfish as a semi-algae eater for the tank.
Plants, you can't live without them......LITERALLY .
