This algae killed my java moss and it's
starting to take over my Taiwan moss.
What should I do? My parameters are
Nitrates : 0
Nitrite : 0
I would hate to see a basketball sized
Taiwan moss die...
When was the last time you did a water change? Take the moss out of the tank and pull it apart and wash it in a bucket of tap water. Dump out the water and wash it again. Then put it in clean tap water and let it sit over night. repeat.
Clean the tank. Figure out why you have no N reading.
Man... this is such a hard decision.
If I don't blast the moss, algae would probaly
take over in 7 more days. But I will lose shrimplets.
I could get otos, but saw YouTube videos saying
they don't eat algae off the moss "effectively"
Last way is to get SAE and transfer moss into another
tank so the SAEs can eat the algae, but still might
kill some babies...
Oh yea! I forgot about that. I need
to get a pic of the moss tomorrow after school
just to confirm if Amanos would eat it. I prefer
fish than adding another type of shrimp into
my tank though. Currently have CRS + Fire reds
in the 30 gallon tank right now.
The moss is starting to have this clear coating on it,
that makes bubbles and the moss is
turning dark greenish black and yellow... should I restart the tank
and leave the filter on to keep the bacteria?
