Diluting Hydrogen Peroxide (h2o2)

Quick question, The bottle already is diluted with only 3% H2o2. Does this need to be further diluted for tank use?

Hi acitydweller,

You can use the 3% solution; however the maximum I dose is 1.5 ml per gallon once per 24 hours. When I have an outbreak I use an oral dosing syringe from the drug store and "shoot" that most heavily infested area. For the H2O2 to have the maximum oxidation (killing) effect the algae needs to full photosynthesis so I do it after the light has been on at least one hour or more.

Thanks Seattle aquarist for your answer. Going to attempt this in a container to spot test some moss to assess their reaction to the h2o2 dip before proceeding with treatment.

Definitely test the moss. Mine did fine for one or two dips but died on subsequent dips. This was java moss fyi.
