I have a problem with an algae explosion tht has killed my fish, 5 rummy nose tetras and a bulldog pleco.
It's grown on two planted bogwoods tht were recently added to the tank. I added them last thurs, 3-5-12, everything was fine the fish enjoyed swimming thru the leaves etc...
On friday i noticed some slight algae growth on the plants but hardly worth worrying about, I did my usual water change on sat and by sun morning all fish had died the algae had grown like ten fold and the water is slight cloudy
My water was fine before I did change everything at 0 ph was stable at bout 7, the tank has bin up and running since jan and is fully cycled. I'm guessing I did something I'm no expert at fish keeping just not what I did differently. Only new thing was the planted bogwoods
Any help to get rid of the algae and prevent it from coming back would be greatly appreciated
I have a 55L tank
Temp hovers at about 24-25C
Ph stable at about 7
Lights usually on for bout 8-10hrs
Not sure way else to put like I said not an expert
I'm writing this on my phone will and it wouldn't let me upload pictures do will do next time I'm on comp
