Like most other algaes. Get your nutrients in balance and get the CO2 levels up.

hi rex
ok here are my parameters
pH 6.7
kH 4 degrees
NO3 5ppm
PO4 .5ppm

my tank is a 40 gallon and i have 110 watts coming from power compacts that are on for 10 hours of the day. Ive been dosing 1ml of flourish, 1 capful of potassium, and enough NO3 and PO4 to keep everything at its respective levels. However, Im still getting this staghorn growth. Whats worse is that Ive noticed what looks like BBA growing slowly but surely in my javamoss. What am I doing wrong? Ive posted on other forums and no one has replied I dont know why. Please help someone.

I've found that I can often remove the staghorn algea when siphoning during a water change, just get close enough and it rips out. Just be careful that it doesn't take any plants along.
