My 2.5 Planted Tank

I would like to share pictures of my 2.5 Gal tank. I have some Rotala macrandra 'Narrow Leaf', Echinodorus tenellus 'Micro', HC, Rotala Rotundifolia, ranunculus inundatus, and Blyxa japonica. DIY co2 with 7.2 WPG. I just does with Seachem's Flourish every water change and Seachem's Excel everyday.

Welcome to the forums, fellow new jerseyian!

Very nice little tank there. Any plans for non-plant residents in the near future?

Thanks Jerseyfish!

Well if I decide to get a heater I will put something in there. I have 5 other tanks with fish in them already lol. I would like to get some cherry shrimp for my 2.5 gal, but the prices for them around NJ are crazy $4-$8 each!!

I wonder if you're in NNJ, because thats what I see in the stores around here. I got mine on the Swap n Shop. Most RCS are $1 or less, even with shipping. I got 50 shipped for $40 last week, and they all made it, even with the cold we've been having.

just curious, whats your temp in there without a heater?

I'm in Middlesex county. I was at Absolutely fish in Clifton yesterday, they have cherries at 7.99, they also have some Crystal Reds for $11.99. I'll have check out the Swap n Shop forum, I was worried about the weather. Temps during the day stay around 70 but at night I'm sure it dips down even lower.

HA! I was there last week, saw the same prices. Its insane. But just check with whoever you buy from that they ship with heat packs and you should be fine. The cold snap here should be over by sunday, so next week shipping would be pretty safe.

Thanks for the kind comments. I took the top rim off the tank and it looks better. Check it out.

Love the color! And it looks great with the top rim off. How you got it off without destroying the 'scape is a feat in and of itself!

I was thinking the same, how the heck did you get it off with the plants in there and not mess things up?

LOL! Thanks guys. Well first I took out like 75% of the water and was able to see that the corners had the most silicone on it so I started working on them first. Then I slid the razor between the glass and the plastic rim and cut all around. I just worked the rim off little by little and got it off. If your gonna try this, be careful of the glass after you take off the rim, its extremely sharp. I learned the hard way lol. It took like 10 minutes to take it off.

Very nice setup. Looks clean and uncluttered but still has alot to see. I'm adding this to my collection of inspirations.
