Picotope 'flaw'

So I've found a bit of problem with the picotope today. I like to fill my rimless tanks to the very top. I have been doing this with the picotope and thinking that I have to fill it again every day from heavy evaporation...this is not the case.

I discovered today that the water is actually draining out by capillary action caused by the light hanging on the rim. If the water line touches the little plastic clip that holds on the light it gets sucked up, over, and down the back of the tank.

To solve this you could only fill your picotope to just below where the light is (about 1/2 inch from the top of the rim), which the directions mention, but don't say why. Or you can do I what I just did and move the light so that it doesn't hang on the tank, I've placed it on a piece of glass that rests behind the tank.

Just a heads up!!

hmm I'll keep that in mind. In general though my tank evaporates a lot and I ususally have to fill it a little every day. Wish I could make a nice glass top for it.

Yeah, since it only goes down a little bit I thought it was evaporation as well (which a part of it is), but the water the last time was around the base and I traced it's source up to the light.

Noticed this interesting phenomenon on my 4 gallon, kind of crazy how it happens.
