So my bettas were looking pitiful in their 1.5 gallon set ups... so I bought a 5 gallon tank, divider, light, and transfered some of my clippings from my 10 gallon into my new 5 gallon to make this!!
It might not be exactly "paradise" but my bettas seem soooo much happier!!
Yes, they jump, and not only if there's no cover. Even with a lid, they can jump out the smallest gaps or holes in it.
I found this out when I found one of mine on the counter, even though the tank had a hood.
Luckily he survived, but I immediately bought some plastic craft canvas and cut it to fit the holes where the filter and heater were.
When I had a divided tank, I also cut a strip of the canvas to attach along the top of the divider so there was no way one of them could jump to the other side.
You should cover the tank asap, or it's quite likely you may come home to find both on the same side and badly beaten up.
one of those plants is C. Wendtii, is the other one with the smaller leaves C. Beckettii?
