Last week this tank was overrun with BGA. Ramshorn snails decimated it

Don't know what to tell you. That is wrong.

Are you sure it was BGA? From what I read no snails eat BGA.

I ask cause I was looking for a BGA solution and ended up using erythromycin. Would have preferred not to use drugs if snails work.
Yes I am sure. I added them to this tank so they would breed and I was surprised when they immediately attacked the BGA, contrary to what I have read.

I will take some FTS when I feel like removing the filter and taking some decent photos.

Here is a shot of the 'BGA'



I tried manual removal every week for about 4 weeks, increasing nitrates/flow, and reducing my photoperiod. I was about to give up and dose anti-biotics but I can't even find an instance of the bga now.
