Spec III or 3g picotope?

So my mom got me one of those new self cleaning betta tanks that have been making the rounds for christmas. I would never subject a betta to such a small, tank so I was considering going for either a 3g picotope or a Spec III. On the other hand, I might do neither, since I kinda want to put the money towards a larger tank... Thoughts?

3.5 gallon- Dwarf Cories
10 gallon- Cories
5.5- Khuli Loaches and Golden Tetras
