What is your favorite nano tank footprint?

I currently have a High techish 40 tall and I want to buy a rimless nano for shrimp. I want to know your favorite dimensions for a nano tank?

i love the dimensions of the 12g but truth be told the low height limits the type of plants you can keep. i would prefer the 33g long but this is no longer a nano.

hmmm, is the 33g the 18in cube? I was thinking about one of those....or the 12in cube which i believe would still be a "nano"

The 33g long that acitydweller referred to is a 4 foot long tank that is only 12 inches high. I had one of those many years ago but traded it for a 55 full of ecocomplete (I now regret that decision since 55's are a dime a dozen).

Right now my all time favorite is my 9G cube by Eheim, the Eheim Aquastyle 9G. Tall enough to really be free with plants/scape, enough water to be stable. Just a very sweet spot.

I still like my 3 gal JBJ Picotope, nice balance - thick glass, not quite a cube, slight bowfront, rimless, big enough to get my hand in (a lot easier than my Spec V), decent depth - both top to bottom and front to back.

I like the longer nanos. The Petco 6.6 gallon tank is really nice.

Like others have mentioned a 33 gallon long is a beautiful tank. I have to get my hands on 1.
