Did PetSmart stop carrying the Evolve?

Don't see it on their site - but it is at other retailers.

Yes evolve is not being carried anymore, instead there carrying a topfin brand equivalent of the evolve and the specs. To be honey the topfin brand evolve is better. More tank space. All glass. And an internal filter with a spray bar.

must....have.....more....moss n shrimp!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I work with the company, you might still be able to find some that stores haven't sold out the last of them. Last time I was in Petco I saw a few left. Petsmart is going to replace their Evolves with their brand Grreat Choice small tanks from what I've heard.

yeah I picked up an 8 for 37 bucks or so, I already had a 2 , an 8 gallon tank that looks decent for under 40 bucks is a deal, it will most likely become a shrimp tank

Petsmart brand is topfin. If you keep the reciept and anything goes wrong even years from now anything breaks they have to replace it because it has a lifetime warranty. Only for topfin. Great choice isn't there brand so they won't be doing the same guarantee for that brand. The topfin is a good tank. But the filters suck. The new spray bar filter is good though I have head good things. Myself I'm a fluval and marina guy.

Grreat Choice is their brand. (EDIT -->) You're right top fin is also their brand for fish. However Great Choice is their brand as well. (Refer to bottom of post for source). Petsmart's dog foods are the same. Grreat Choice, Authority, and Simply Nourish. I've seen this in every training thing they've shown.

And as far as I know yes, the evolves are going away pretty much everywhere including Petcos. Some stores may not have clearanced them or gotten rid of them, but I'm guessing they will soon.

Quote on Grreat Choice from Wikipedia:
Quote:
Dog products
PetSmart owns several brands that produce a variety of products:
Grreat Choice, previously Award, is a grocery line of dog food owned by PetSmart. Dog and cat hardgoods are also sold under the Grreat Choice logo.
Authority is a premium dog and cat food line that PetSmart distributes.
Simply Nourish is a super-premium dog and cat food line offering canned and dry food, and limited ingredient, and grain-free formulas.
Top Paw is a private label used for dog and cat hardgoods.
Now it doesn't say fish, reptile, small animal, and bird, but it would stand to reason that the items in-store that are packaged by Grreat Choice that use the same packaging, fonts, styles, and formattings would still be by the same company. My guess is the article hasn't been updated.

Great choice is their brand for most other stuff, but topfin is the most appraised of there fish brands. All living things is there appraised brand for most small reptile bird and small animal. I work there to I. Pet care.

As far as it goes evolves weren't a big hit with a lot of people due to the filtration sucking and the amount of wasted space in the back. That's why I got a spec instead because the back filtration is amazing for a small tank and the pump is not too powerful for a beta.

Like I said top fin is their brand for fish. What are the grreat choice products for fish then?

But yeah the evolves filter was pretty poor quality. I just stuffed fluvial bio max media into the back and slowed the flow rate down with filter floss

That's too bad! I just got an evolve 2 and so far I quite like it! The Spec was very tall for how wide it was and that could present an aquascape challenge.

I did have to call Aquean for a replacement pump though, I got one of the ones with the 100GPH pump and that thing was a tornado. There customer service was top notch and they got a new one right out to me with no questions asked.

What about the petco bookshelf aquarium? 6.6gallons and an awesome footprint. Filter and lighting are tolerable.

Just the tanks and some filters for great choice, not much option there.

I plan on re scaping my fluval spec this weekend with some dragon stone and a piece of mopani to make into a tree I'll post a photo when it's done. It is a challenge but with slopes it can be done,

thanks for heads up. Purchased another tank, as if I needed more to take care of.
Got the evolve 4 for $29.00 which isn't a bad deal.

Wish I got my hands on a few of the 8's

I personally prefer the glass tanks over acrylic. Thanks for the info.
