I have a 1.25 gallon tank with a couple shrimp in it and I use an eyedropper to dose 3 drops of Flourish Excel daily and 2 drops of Flourish twice a week and change 20% of the water every week. It actually done better for me than any of my other tanks, and got really overgrown really quickly. To a fault. Haha.
If you're only planning on keeping Anubias and Java Fern in the tank, I wouldn't bother with any ferts. They're going to grow slow no matter what you put in the water, so it's just extra hassle to try dosing.
That can, from my experience be completely normal. Full coloration will be seen as the new growth matures. If it does not then you may have a deficiency. Don't over think things and try to let everything go with the....flow?
Ive been trying like i read from another thread 3 drops of excel daily and 2-3 drops of flourish 2x a week. Ill see what kind of results i get in a week or two. But already with the new light and dosing the bacopa in there will be growing out of the water today or tomorrow.
