1.5L First Terrestrial Closed Biotope

Made this guy for my GF so she could have some living zen at work.

Random rocks as drainage base
Planting mix
Moss and unknown plant from outside
Reed, buddha, rocks

Lighting is whatever it gets from the shop.

This is my first try at biotopes, but it is fun as hell and 5 people are already waiting in line inc. her boss lol.

Haha, it's the "love" buddha, made him sit on a stump. I'll keep this updated to see how these progress with time.

I'm wondering if you are going to add some earthworms to aerate the soil and make it more of an ecosystem. Just wondering...

Good call, since I took the moss and plants from outside, I will almost guarantee that a bunch critters will start to show up, especially worms.

That's my plan. Doing this with two 5g carboys with shrimp soon. In the lighting forum.

ha just remember to clean it often, as the detritus can cause poisoning to the shrimps
