6.6 gallon planted M.praecox

I've had this tank up and running for about three months now. Just did some major maintenance and I think things are looking good. I wanted to share some pictures with you wonderful people. Sorry for the scratched up acrylic tank and the phone quality pictures. I hope you enjoy anyway

From left to right the plants are as follows:
Myriophyllum aquaticum
Cardamine lyrata
Alternanthera reineckii
Hygrophila difformis
Cryptocoryne wendtii (bronze)
more Alternanthera reineckii
Microsorum pteropus
Crinum calamistratum
Myriophyllum hippuroides
Ludwigia palustris
Nesaea pedicellata
Bacopa caroliniana
Also some frogbit floating around...
...and 12 F2 'Pagai' M.praecox...
...and one otocinclus...

Thanks for looking!
I love to be able to share!

Your pictures definitely make this tank look much larger than a 6.6g haha

I literally love my aquarium(s).

I'm so tempted to get some Rainbows for my 45 long. Yours look beautiful. Are they constantly moving or do they have certain times where they just hangout and chill in a certain spot?

6.6 gallon planted M.praecox

It's just a 6.6 gallon - the common and popular bookshelf version. I'm looking to upgrade to a 20 gallon for this particular outfit as soon as I have the funds.

I have four tanks, each containing a different species of rainbowfish - the other tanks are much more utilitarian and purposed for breeding. Every morning for several hours, and sometimes again in the evening, the rainbows flash and put on an incredible display. If you've never seen it they are truly swimming sparkling gems. When not exhibiting this spawning behavior they usually seek the comfort of the heavy planted tank. Sometimes you can't even tell there are fish in there!

I think the safety they feel in the plants contributes toward more of the beautiful spawning displays. If you ask me, rainbows cannot be beat. I think M.kamaka or M.boesemani (I like the Ayintjo variety the best...) would look great in a 45...
