2.5g help: filter, light, heater

Im looking to set up two 2.5g tanks to bread dwarf shrimp in. I am having trouble finding a heater, lights, or a filter.

I'd like to use a sponge filter (already know which air pump I want)
The heater must have adjustable temp, and
I'd like a clip on light.

Any help is much appreciated. As are links!

Thank you.

I know some things aren't needed, but I want them.

Though you say in another thread you've given up on the idea of a 2.5gal tank, I thought I'd still reply here.

You likely won't need a heater for shrimp. Start with the sticky in the Shrimp forum.

There are all kinds of clip-on lighting options. From Fluval to Finnex to UP Aqua. You could even do a work light or desk lap from Home Depot for cheap.

There are probably hundreds of small sponge filters on the market ranging from $1 to $20. Just shop around on various aquarium sites and even on eBay.

I had posted this the day before. I kept researching it and couldn't find anything decent on my own. However My apartment is cold (I like it cold) and a heater is necessary. I just hate the small tank heaters that arent adjustable.

If you're keeping only shrimp, you won't need a heater unless your water temperature is, say, constantly 50 degrees.

I have Neos breeding for me all the time in tanks that hover between 60-65.

In rooms that stay around 60 degrees, I find my tanks with covers stay at around 70-72 when the lights are turned on. 67-68 degrees for rimless tanks.

Ahh. I figured 60 degree would kill them.

Can I really use a desk lamp? I thought that fish and plants required a certain spectrum of light, and thus special bulbs.

Daylight CFL bulbs work well in a desk lamp.

I encourage you to do more reading here on the forum. Check out the Shrimp forum and read through the sticky at the top. Also go through the Lighting forum.

I'll have to go through the lighting forum. I have the shrimp part down. Im the kind of guy that has the AC going in the winter. I'll probably just end up using a 10g heater if I go those route.

They sell little betta heaters at petco that work well for the small aquariums. Brought my 1.5 up to 73 In a room that stays 65.
