Cracked tank. Upping the gallons

I have a crack in my 5 gallon. I found a fluval chi 6.6 gallon tank. Only the tank. No filter or light.

I'm going to be using a marina s10 slim filter and a desk lamp with a 13w 6700k CF.

The tank will be heated

I'm going to be dosing Excell and Flourish. Will have API leaf zone which is iron and potassium. Will I need that too?

I currently have a handful of Red cherry shrimp in the 5 gallon. And for plants...

-java fern
-banana plant
-java moss
-duckweed
-amazon frogbit
-a couple recovering swords (they will be taken out)

Should this setup work? How about substrate? I'm thinking about using white sand
