Here is my 12 gallon eclipse tank That is used for breeding guppies to feed my cichlids. Soon I will be moving the guppies to a large bin So I will have this footprint to turn into something else. I was originally planning on stocking my Biocube 8 With Crs But due to it's wet/dry filter system I'm starting to have second thoughts as I Believe they will somehow end up in the filter system & die.
So the second option of housing Would be the eclipse 12. Filter wise I will be running the original filter with the sponge on the inlet "as seen in the picture" Substrate will be the plain sand that you also see in the photos & plant wise I have no Idea. What do shrimp like? lol I'm planning on ditching the original lighting & modifying the hood to run a 14 watt cfl & running diy c02 through the filter inlet....I don't know how the anubias managed to grow in that tank with the oem lighting, It is horrible! But it does.
Plant stock currently in tank are
-rotala indica cuttings floated
-water sprite cuttings floated
-water wisteria cuttings floated
Any thoughts, tips or opinions are welcome I will be new to shrimp. Making the purchase this weekend. Buying (3) I don't know if that's to little or not. Tank has been healthy & running 6 months
