Fighting algae in my nano shrimp tank
To my dismay last night I noticed what appears to be staghorn algae growing in my tank. This is a fluval ebi running stock light, and filter. No co2 or ferts. Tank has been set up for 6 weeks, cycled very quickly with filter media from another tank. Current plants are java moss, fissidens, Christmas moss, java ferns and crypt wendtii. Tank is home to 6 red cherry shrimp, one berried. Right now i only see it on the fissidens and java moss. Parameters:
Weekly 20% water change
Lights on timer about 9 hours a day
This is my first planted tank so I really need some good advice. I have removed as much as I could and have cut the light back to 8 hours. I have read about excel dosing but I am really nervous doing this with shrimp in the tank.
