Algae Problem

Hello everyone, I have a 2.5 gallon tank with just 3 snails in them. And my tank just cycled about 3 weeks ago, and the algae did go away and the tank look good, and then its starting to come back, I have to go to the LFS to pick up some more testing strips.

But whats going on? What do you guys suggest I do?

I suggest you post more information about your lighting and photo-period.

Also, what does the algae look like? Newly set up tanks often experience diatoms (brown algae) around a month or so after being set up. Diatoms will be eaten by some snails (and otocinclus love them), however, they will disappear after the tank becomes more established.

11" Coralife mini Aqualight (Two 10k white lights)

I leave the light on for roughly about 11 to 12 hours.
Aslo the algae is a dark green color.

Thanks.

The issue is you have 12 watts of light on a 2.5 gallon tank with an 11-12hour light cycle.

Cut the light cycle to 6-7 hours and try to raise the light some.
