New to planted tanks

Well, I currently have a 90 gallon reef tank and a newly set up 35 gallon reef, so with me now having a new tank on my desk ive decided i dont really want to go with another reef, i want to try a planted tank.

So i have a Mr Aqua 7.5 gallon cube(12x12x12) and i have a coralife light that i had bought along with the tank when i was planning on making it into a reef. So i was wondering if i can still use this light and just change the bulbs over or if it will be too powerful for the freshwater plants.

the light;

I know nearly nothing about planted aquariums other than what i have seen or read..I have never been into freshwater fish. I saw a fluva chi? i think it was and it said it came with a co2 regulator i was wondering if this is needed or if i need an airstone(both?) and i was looking into buying some seachem substrate and putting some driftwood in the tank.

My last question is filtration and powerheads, do planted tanks require a good amount of filtration or can i just do weekly 1 gallon water changes? and do they need power heads?

This is what i want it to look like ;

Research, research, research, research, then come back.

I'd recommend that if you want to do a planted tank to go with the Fluval Flora. It comes with your c02 injection kit and everything. Good luck.
