Leaving the world of salt

Hello to all of you!

Im currently mulling over the idea of turning my 28g nano with LED lighting from reef to a freshwater planted oasis! Lol I just have a few questions....as far filtration i work at a big box pet store and we have an ehiem 60g cannister on clerance for $27 i was going to use that as my filter just because its one hell of a deal and it will leave the middle chamber of my nano open for a co2 system at least thats my plan i just need some guidance as to which co2 system would b able to fit in that compartment and any other advice you guys can give me.

I don't think you'll be able to use the co2 in the rear chamber, because all of your co2 will get get dispersed into the air with all the agitation (unless all of your co2 bubbles will get sucked right into the return pump, but I don't think that is possible).

Don't know which eheim your talking about, but sounds like a good deal. I would assume you'd have to cut your cover though, to get the pipes inside your tank.

Ive been doing research on the co2 issue and have been leaning towards using excel instead of buying a co2 system. Would the excel be sufficient? I only want to keep medium to low care plants. And i was thinking of putting the ehiem tubbing in the rear chambers not the main display.

Thanx!

just make sure that there are NO TRACES at ALL of salt left. Not good. But you'll have a ton of fun in this great hobby. Good luck!
