Aquaclear mini on eclipse 5g bow front questions

Hello,

I recently purchased a used 5gallon eclipse bow-front acrylic tank. I really like how whisper-quiet the filter is but I HATE how much light it blocks! I replaced the stock bulb with a 13watt 65k compact fluorescent bulb and the tank sits 2 feet away from me on my desk but I still can't see the back half of it!

I've heard some people mention replacing the stock filter with an aquaclear mini to get better light coverage but I haven't been able to find any threads or pictures specifically on this. My questions are:

Do the aquaclears actually fit under the hood?
Does the light shine on more of the tank with the aquaclear?
If not, what other options are there to get better light in the back?

Thanks,
Adam

Thanks for the reply. I've got quite a bit of experience with aquaclears and have a couple of them right now - unfortunately none of the minis, though. The tank that I have has a similar waterfall type filter but it sits on a rack on top of the tank under the hood.

Anyone have one of these with an aquaclear in it?
