My sister has been really busy with school so she decided to take down her 10g dwarf puffer tank and gave it to a good home (me). :-) I have had a lot of fun with my Edge tank in my room and decided to put this one out in the kitchen where my roommate and I could both enjoy it. The idea of this tank is only to use free stuff that I have either found or using leftovers from my edge.
When I went to visit the family for the holidays I picked up the tank. While I was in Santa Barbara I went out and got a nice piece of Manzanita. After soaking it a few weeks and giving it a couple of runs in the dish washer and oven, I set it all up! I tied a couple pieces of java fern to the manzanita that have been growing on my existing java fern in my Edge. I'll add some moss n such once some more grows in my edge.
I packed some extra filter media into my edge filter to get seasoned to put in this tanks filter when I decide to add a few shrimp to this tank.
I'm proud to say that so far this tank has cost nothing except the electricity to run it :-)
Aquacleaer 30 Filter, Tetra 100w heater (I think...)
Left over gravel from my edge.
Aqueon Plant food every couple of days.
DIY into the aquaclear
Java Fern, Anubias, and Java Moss.
15ish Cherry Shrimp, 1 Amano, 2 Ghost shrimp, 2 endlers.
Just after I filled it. Some bubbles lingering...
I cut a piece of plastic so the cats can't go fishing in the back of the tank.
Any thoughts, comments, and criticism are always welcome!
