Brown algae/diatoms

I have some brown algae growing on some plants, driftwood and slightly accumulating on the surface of my substrate. No other algae issues.

It is a 10g tank appromiately 1m old. Cycle is complete, with current conditions of 6.2 pH, 0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrite, 0-5 Nitrate, KH 2-3, GH 4-6 (supplement very soft tap with baking soda and Seachem Equilibrium). The light is a 20" Fugeray elevated ~5" off water surface. Excel (1ml) dosed once daily, alternating EI macro and micro nutrients.

The tank will be stocked next weekend with CPDs, Burmese Rosy Loaches (Yunnanilus sp.) and one other nano fish native to Myanmar (D. tinwini or Microdevario nana).

Will shrimp help get rid of this algae? I picked up some small shrimp (presumably wild-type Neocardinia or similar) today in the hopes that they would. The Amano shrimp were just too big for the scale of my tank. I would prefer not to bump the Excel - as I think that my dwarf chain sword is already suffering from it.
