I have some fire reds and caught this action today from one of the females she was laying eggs into her abdomen. Pretty cool to see her contract and a long trail of eggs in a sticky mucus would come out.
I pulled out my phone and recorded a couple minutes of it.
Those eggs will not hatch without the mother. That's her dropping the eggs. In normal conditions, the female will keep the eggs inside her abdomen until the babies hatch.
You may be able to salvage them by putting them into a small net and placing it nearby an airstone to keep the eggs well aerated.
Great videos. Never seen that before.
But on a serious note ,, there must be something wrong in your tank to make the female drop them. As i said ive never seen or had that happen to me , so im no expert ..
But id say get your water tested assap .
I've never seen a shrimp berry up from a saddle. That's a really great capture.
Not sure if it's getting rid of all the eggs or accidentally dropping some eggs transferring them into here abdomen. If she still have some eggs I wouldn't be too worried. Getting them to even saddle is a good thing.
Great video, but I'm too impatient to try to capture it with my own eyes.
sometimes ur tank is wrong and she not comfortable and is dropping eggs
